NaPoWriMo 2014 – Day Two

The train ride this morning was super packed because two trains before mine were cancelled. It was not enjoyable to say the least. But luckily something good came out of it. It became the inspiration for todays poem.

Squashed between a stranger and a plastic window

Today, the smell of cigarettes, dirty sneakers and old-lady perfume

A web of random arms ambush me into a small corner of space

I wait patiently and regret not staying home

Each second feels like an eternity

Someone coughs directly onto the back of my head

The door opens, this is my stop

Did someone say coffee?

National Poetry Writing Month 2014 – Day One

Hi there!

I’m really excited to participate in NaPoWriMo this year. It sounds like a great idea. I’m not sure what i’m going to write about but i’ve been meaning to set aside some time each day to write. This is a great opportunity to get me started and get me into the habit of writing regularly (even if it is just mumbo jumbo).

So here goes…

Like an avalanche, a single thought snowballs out of control

My mind is occupied by a million thoughts, none of them defined

Consumed by things that don’t matter at all

Until I start to write

Thanks for reading!
